Top 6 - Our Six Favorite Park Restaurants

For the past couple of seasons, Six Flags Over Texas has been rapidly growing and improving their food selection. The park features dozens of delicious dining locations, but in this article, we will be counting down our six favorite.

6) Casa De Las Banderas

Coming in at our #6 spot is Casa De Las Banderas. Located in the Spain section of the park, this restaurant and sports bar features various types of nachos, alcoholic beverages, and desserts. The location features plenty of indoor seating with multiple TV's showing the latest in sports. If you want a spot to relax while you're at the park, look no further than Casa De Las Banderas.

5) JB's Bbq

JB's BBQ has been a park favorite for a long time. With its indoor seating and wide array of menu offerings, this restaurant is one of the best spots to escape the heat while you enjoy a delicious meal. Menu items include brisket or pulled pork sandwiches, cheeseburgers, turkey legs, salads, and waffle fries. Lines at this location can get long, so be sure to take advantage of the touch-n-go kiosks or mobile ordering (coming soon) to save yourself some time.

4) johnny rockets

Johnny Rockets is always a go-to when we're at the park. While the food quality is lacking compared to the chain's sit-down locations outside of theme parks, it's still quite good. In addition, the location is one of the few in the park to feature mostly indoor seating for you while you eat your hamburgers, chicken strips, french fries, onion rings, and milkshakes. Because of this, Johnny Rockets earns the #4 spot on our list.

3) Oliver's Tavern: cheesesteak & tots

Oliver's Tavern, located in the Tower section of the park near Superman, features exactly what it's name implies; cheesesteaks and tater tots! While these two options are what the restaurant is known for, the reality is that there's so much more. Oliver's Tavern also has menu items such as jalapeno bottle caps, fried pickles, and chicken strips. While the restaurant has been closed since late September due to flood damage, it's expected to reopen early on this season. The food is both tasty and filling, so next time you're at the park be sure to give the location a visit.

2) ma hunkel's famous chicken

Even though it opened just months ago, Ma Hunkel's Famous Chicken has already become a guest favorite at the park. But with delicious menu options such as boneless wings, chicken strips, chicken sandwiches, and potato wedges, it's not hard to imagine why. The restraunt is located in the New Gotham City section of the park, and it's colorful theming adds to the area's already lively atmosphere. Our favorite meal at this location is by far the Texas Toast Chicken Sandwich, but honestly, you can't go wrong with anything here.

1) Texas taco bar

As the third new-for-2018 restaurant on our list, the Texas Taco Bar rightfully earns it's #1 spot. Featuring chicken and beef street tacos, elote, chips and salsa and more, this restaurant fills yet another food gap that the park had prior to the 2018 season and makes the park's food lineup just that much better. The Texas Taco Bar also has some of the best value dining pass options, with menu items costing upwards of $15. Next time you're at the park, be sure to give it a try.
