Gotham City Chicken Restaurant
As the new Gotham City Chicken Restaurant nears completion, signage has been placed showcasing the new name as "Ma Hunkel's Famous Chicken." For those of you who don't know, Ma Hunkel is a DC Comics character from the 1930's and 1940's that had a second identity as The Red Tornado. We think that the theme of this restaurant cleverly fits in with the rest of Gotham City, and we're happy to see that Six Flags chose a DC comics theme for the location.
Fright Fest Preparation
With Fright Fest now less than 2 weeks away, the work crew is putting up the final touches on many of the parks haunts and scare zones. Below are photos of the Gotham City Stage and the set for Dead Man's Party, figuarines set up in front of the Conquistidor, construction on the Blackout haunted house, and lastly, the Jeep and barrels that make up the Zombie Infestation sign. In addition, the big Fright Fest display in front of Pandenonium has been removed while the props are being moved to their locations throughout the park.
'Texas Gifts' Now An Arcade
During this past week, the arcade games from Gotham City have been moved into the former 'Texas Gifts' store in the Tower section of the park. This location, likely only temporary, was opened up so that Blackout could be set up in time for this year's Fright Fest. Blackout occupies the space that's normally home to the Gotham City arcade.
