The day that the Diamond Elite membership was announced, I knew that it was the pass for me. I visit the park over 60 times each season and it was a no brainer that I upgrade to a level that gives me so many great benefits. I've had my Diamond Elite Membership for just over 3 months now which has allowed me to take advantage of many of its perks. Below are 5 reasons why I love my Diamond Elite Membership!
1. The Discounts
The Diamond Elite Membership offers a 50% discount on most in park items. This includes food, souvenirs, drink bottles, dining passes and more! The savings that I get on in-park purchases are enough to justify the cost of the membership alone. The discounts are valid at every Six Flags property which means that I can save at other parks as well!
2. VIP Parking
The last thing that I want to do after a day at the park is walk a 1/2 mile to my car. This is just one of the places where the Diamond Elite membership shines! Rather than having to show up nearly an hour before park opening to get a good parking spot, I can simply make a reservation online that entitiles me to park up close in the VIP parking lot. You can also show up at any time throughout the day to use your spot (as long as you have a reservation, of course).
3. Skip The Line On 2 Rides Each Visit
Another awesome perk of the Diamond Elite membership is that I get to skip 2 ride lines each time I'm at the park. On busy days, this can save me potentially 3 or more hours of waiting and is almost worth the membership price alone. To pick up your skip the line passes, simply go to the Flash Pass Headquarters at the front of the park.
4. The Membership Card
The four new membership options each feature unique cards, something new to the Six Flags company just this season. The Diamond Elite card, being that it's for the most expensive option, has a high quality look and feel. It features a cutout at the top to easily attach your card to a lanyard and the plastic is thick and much higher quality than the regular season pass cards. The membership card also has a hologram that shines different colors in the sunlight.
5. Flash Pass Upgrades
Even though most of my Six Flags adventures are at the Arlington location, I still venture out to other parks multiple times each year. Because the Diamond Elite perks can be used at any park, I can get a free Flash Pass upgrade by simply showing my pass. This means that I can pay the price of a regaular and get a gold, or pay the price of the gold and get a platinum! This perk has already saved me well over $100 and the summer season is only just beginning!
We've had our fair share of rainy days at the park. Whether it rains for just a few minutes or on and off all day, there are still many fun things to do at Six Flags Over Texas. Below are 5 of our biggest tips on what to do on a rainy day at the park!
1. Come Prepared
Coming prepared is the #1 thing that can make or break a visit to the park on a rainy day. We recommend that you bring ponchos, an extra pair of shoes, a waterproof bag, and the mindset that rides might occasionly close throughout the day. If you're prepared for the weather, you will have a great advantage compared to other guests.
2. See The Shows
Six Flags Over Texas has 3 summer shows that run daily through August 12th. While one is outside and exposed to the elements, the other two (Hey Mr. DJ: Technicolor Beat and Mrs. Ruby's Wild West Cabaret) are both indoors. These shows not only provide a break from the rain, but the brutal Texas heat as well. You can view more information on the summer shows here.
3. Ride The Indoor Rides
Six Flags Over Texas can run most rides in the rain as long as there's no lightning in the area. However, depending on how long the rain lasts, you might want to enjoy a few minutes indoors and away from the elements. Both 'Yosemite Sam And The Gold River Adventure' and 'Justice League: Battle For Metropolis' are exciting indoor dark rides that can provide a nice break from the rain.
4. Look Around At The Park's Gift Shops
Six Flags Over Texas has more than a dozen gift shops that all feature fun and unique items. Rain showers provide a break from the rides to pick out the perfect souvenir to remember your visit to the park. Even if you don't want to buy anything, looking around at all of the different items can provide a nice few minutes out of the rain. Also, be sure to try on the various silly hats and have a laugh with your friends and family.
5. Enjoy The Time When It's NOT Raining
Even if the forcast says so, it won't rain all day while you're at the park. This means that between rain showers and storm cells, you'll still have time to hop on your favorite rides and enjoy the other outdoor activities without getting soaked head to toe. Save things such as eating, shopping, or seeing indoor shows for when it does rain, and take advantage of the time that the storms give you a break. The park will be less busy during these rainy days, and you'll want to take advantage of the short lines while they last.
