Destinations include North Texas water parks, resorts and festivals!
The time has come! After years of planning, development, and construction, Grand Prairie's indoor waterpark has officially opened its gates to the public. We were able to visit the park on Sunday, January 14th, just 2 days after it's official opening.
With over 80,000 square feet of year-round fun, this $88 million dollar facility was appropriately named! The waterpark features 11 slides, 3 of which are firsts for the indoor waterpark industry. On top of just the slides, Epic Waters also features a Flow Rider surf simulator, a 4,000 square foot arcade, a lazy river, a recreational pool complete with basketball hoops, and a kids water playground.
For those that aren't looking to get wet, Epic Waters has you covered. The 4,000 square foot arcade (seen above) features over 50 arcade games for your enjoyment. Other dry activities include watching people take on the Flow Rider, grabbing a drink at the full service bar, and ingulging on one of the park's many food options. Epic Waters offers a "spectator only" wristband at a discounted rate.
For the thrill seekers in your party, I recommend slides such as the 'Lasso Loop', 'Yellow Jacket Drop' and the 'E Racers' mat slide. Other great options include braving the 50 foot 'Prairie Plunge', taking a spin on the 'Texas Twist' or being thrown side to side on the 'Aquanaut.'
Epic Waters is sure to be a hit for the state of Texas. Not only is the park full of things to do, it's also affordable for the entire family. There's a great mix of activities for guests young and old and we have no doubt that it will be extremely popular for years to come.
