With Holiday In The Park 2018 now underway, this week's park update will be heavily focused on everything happening at this year's event. Below we'll discuss ride statuses, new food options, a special opportunity to donate to kids in need, and the possible (and likely) removal of the Gold Plus membership.
Mr. Freeze: reverse blast open for holiday in the park
As we first reported 2 weeks ago, Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast is open for this year's Holiday In The Park. However, the ride is only running one side while the other side is getting its annual maintenance and inspection done. This has led to extremely long wait times, so if you want to ride Mr. Freeze, be sure to do it early.
harley quinn spinsanity has now reopened
Last week we reported that Harley Quinn Spinsanity was rumored to be reopening for the start of Holiday In The Park. As expected, this is the case! We took a couple of rides on it now that it's finally back open, and it was running as great as ever. We seriously love this ride, and we're so happy to be able to ride it again!
six flags offering a buy one, give one special this holiday season
Six Flags Over Texas is giving back this holiday season with their buy one, give one plush special. Plush are being sold for $12.99 each, and for each one purchased, the park will donate another one to Mission Arlington. To purchase your buy one, give one plush, head on over to the Looney Tunes Mall or Indian Village Trading Post.
gold plus membership likely to be discontinued
First introduced at the beginning of the year, the Gold Plus membership was the cheapest membership option for guests. It seemed to be quite popular, but it looks like the park is hoping to eliminate the option and only offer the Platinum, Diamond, and Diamond Elite memberships going into the future. This is hinted at by a "sign up a Gold Plus, get a Platinum" offer currently going on online and at the park. It's also likely that there will be a minor change in pricing to reflect the elimination of the cheapest membership tier. As soon as we have official word on any changes that are being made to the membership system, we will update our membership page to reflect these.
